Matt Bulkley, LCSW, Expert Clinician

Matt Bulkley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in psychotherapy, specializing in the treatment of adolescent males with pornography addiction and sexual maladaptive behaviors. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Brigham Young University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. Since 1995, Matt has worked in diverse settings, including wilderness therapy, residential treatment, outpatient clinics, psychiatric care, and state government, demonstrating expertise in child welfare, family treatment, and at-risk youth.
As co-founder of Therapy Associates and STAR Guides, a renowned wilderness therapy program for sexual addictions, Matt has developed innovative curricula for substance abuse, sexual offenses, and sexual dependency treatment. He is the author of several workbooks, including Breaking Free: 10 Concepts for Escaping the Porn Trap, Breaking Free: Guide for Parents, 101 Tips for Quitting Porn for Teens  and 10 Steps for Safety. His expertise has been recognized nationally, notably in an ABC News Nightline investigative report on youth pornography addiction, where he was featured as a leading expert.
Matt’s pioneering work in wilderness therapy has established him as a respected clinician, blending evidence-based psychotherapy with experiential modalities. He has provided transformative treatment to hundreds of young men and their families since 1998, focusing on sexual offending and pornography addiction. Passionate about his work, Matt conducts weekly therapy sessions in Therapy Associates’ wilderness programs, leveraging his deep understanding of adolescent psychology to foster lasting change.
Outside of his professional life, Matt enjoys weight training, running, biking, and spending time with his wife, five children, and four grandchildren. His commitment to empowering youth and families, combined with his clinical expertise, makes him a trusted leader in the field of psychotherapy for sexual maladaptive behaviors.
